M&G Sawmill would like to give David a special thank you for
sharing these photos.
All of the project photos we receive show the wonderful skills and talent our
customers
are blessed with. For a self proclaimed "Novice Woodworker", I think David is
being a bit modest.
David spent a year in his workshop building these beautiful U shaped kitchen
cabinets
that consist of 44 drawers and 24 doors.
All we can say is ...job well done!
In David's own words...
" It was the most ambitious project yet for this novice woodworker and
certainly added to my skills through shear repetition.
Overall the U shaped kitchen is a pretty basic design using melamine boxes and
oak face frames and doors.
Walnut raised panel ends provide some contrast. The main headache was fitting
the cabinets into the existing laminate floor
cutout and onto the existing soffits. Plus the floor and soffits are about 2"
out of level.
The best design decision was the make the base all drawers. It's more work,
but the wife loves it!
Lots of lessons learned and things that I'd do different next time, but it
was the best that I could do with the skills that I had."
